There are five groups of Gorillas habituated for tourism in the unique environment of Volcanoes National Park, and if you are a wildlife enthusiast, you will love two consecutive days of tracking the gorillas with expert rangers.  The rule on gorilla hikes is that the slowest person usually goes in front and sets the pace for the group.  He also said that sometimes a Susa group trekker will not make it all the way to see the gorillas.
For conservation purposes, our time with the Gorillas is limited to one hour.  Because Gorilla sighting is not precisely predictable no other activity is planned for the day.
Day 3 After breakfast you will be taken on your second Gorilla tracking excursion.  Since gorilla trekking safaris are the main tours made by travellers to Rwanda, this annual event has rought in people from across the world.

The slain primate called Rubiga belonged to the Kabirizi group, a mountain gorilla family.  Researchers believe that part of the reason why gorillas are endangered is because of the high ortality rate of the young.

On average, the gorilla will travel approximately 380-600 yd and p to 1170 yd (1 km) daily in other equatorial regions.  On cold or rainy days, the mountain orilla will stay huddled together for warmth and tend not to get anything accomplished while other gorilla will spend 30% of their time feeding, 30% traveling, and 40% resting.

The gorilla is a diurnal mammal with a fairly consistent daily schedule.  A unique thing about gorillas is the fact that they do not share their food with others.

The mountain gorilla feeds in 58 different kinds of plants in 7 different vegetation zones.  Eastern lowland gorillas can also be found in the mountains between 6600 and 8000 ft (2000 2500 m).  Mountain gorillas live in forests between 9200 and 11,200 ft (2800-3499 m) and occasionally are found in meadows at around 13,000 ft (4000 m).  The gorilla can be seen in the following National Parks and
